To use AI features you must create an account with the AI provider and
generate an API key. The key is entered in the Aicyng Adventures Options panel.

AI Platforms for Aicyng Adventures
Aicyng Adventures uses modern AI models to generate adventures, create maps, power NPC conversations, and optionally produce images and voice narration. You provide your own API key and select the AI provider you prefer.
Choosing an AI Provider
Aicyng Adventures works with several major AI platforms. Each has strengths depending on the type of gameplay experience you want. Most providers require a paid tier or API billing account to generate adventures and chat with NPCs.

Paid Tier Requirements
AI providers require an API key and billing account.
Usage Billing
Most AI providers charge per token or request. Adventure generation is typically
very inexpensive and usually costs only a few cents per adventure.
Your Data Control
Using your own API key means you control usage limits, costs, and access.
Aicyng Adventures does not charge a monthly AI fee.
Current Limitations
Some AI providers have capabilities that are still evolving. The items below highlight current limitations when using certain AI models with Aicyng Adventures. This section will expand over time as new features and providers are supported.
xAI Voice Support
Limitation
At this time, the xAI API does not support text-to-speech.
This means voice narration features in Aicyng Adventures cannot be used when
selecting xAI as your AI provider.
Adventure generation, NPC chat, and image generation are fully supported.
Gemini JSON Formatting
Rare Issue
In rare instances, the Gemini API may return malformed JSON
during adventure creation. This is uncommon but can occur when generating
large structured responses while stocking locations during adventure generation.
If this happens, players can use the Recover option inside Aicyng Adventures to continue generating their adventure without starting over.
